So why is social media so hard for small businesses?

Look, you’re good at what you’re good at. Making the world a better place or telling great stories or sharing the experiences of your lifetime.

You don’t need to know how the Google algorithm interprets the Facebook social graph to tell your potential listener why they should listen to you.

You don’t need to know how to build an engaged audience of superfans willing to crowdfund your efforts.

You don’t need to spend every waking hour on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter and Instagram, oh my.

You don’t need to understand the difference between paid search and consumer generated content.

You don’t need to know how to split-test your messaging, or optimize your marketing funnel.

You don’t need to live with the fear that your latest tweet is going to destroy your brand.

And you don’t need to know who you’ve got to call to get some of that sweet, sweet advertising, sponsorship, and merchandising money you hear so much about.
